San Jose, Calif. --- The San José State University women's swimming team won 5 events in their second dual meet meet of the season , but the Spartans (0-2) fell short against UC Davis (1-0), 178-116.
Seniors Ashlyn Acosta and Erika Harvey contributed to the Spartan's four wins, each having two individual wins during the Spartans first home meet of the season.
Acosta won her first event in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.58 and later went on to win the 100 fly in 56. 03.
Harvey placed first in the 50 free with a time of 23.40, improving her previous best mark of 24.11. She also had a first place finish in the 100 free with a final time of 51.76.
The two teamed in the 200 Medley Relay with teammates Christina Bruni and Darcie Anderson, clenching the fifth win for the Spartans in 1:44.49.
San Jose State heads back into competition on November 1, 2013 as the Spartans take on the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs.
