Two Wins And A Personal Best For Spartans at Fresno State Twilight

Fresno, Calif. --- Two victories for Jade Childs and a new personal best for Makayla Webb highlighted the San José State women's outdoor track and field team's evening at the Fresno State Twilight on Tuesday.

Childs was victorious in the 100-meter hurdles event, which she finished in a personal-best tying 14.07. Close behind was Webb who set a new personal-best in the event with a time of 14.36.

"The hurdles was a great event for us today," said Spartans' head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. Jade ran a good time and it was very good to see a new best time for Makayla."

Childs was also a winner in the long jump event with a distance of 5.68 meters. The next best was Cal Poly's Mishe' Scott at 5.40 meters.

"This was a nice meet for us during spring break," Petersmeyer said. "Now we'll set our focus on the distance carnival and Stanford Invitational coming up."

Next up, the team will be competing in both the San Francisco State Distance Carnival and the Stanford Invitational taking place on April 3-4.
