MORAGA, Calif. - San José State University's women's tennis team returns to competition after just four days rest when it travels to Moraga, Calif., to take part in this weekend's Saint Mary's Fall Invitational.
The tournament features participants from 13 teams - Cal, Cal Poly, Eastern Michigan, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Pacific, Portland, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's College, San Francisco, San José State, Santa Clara, Stanford and UC Davis - and runs Friday through Sunday at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex on the SMC campus.
The singles portion of the competition will have two 32-player brackets - the "A" and "B" brackets - and a "C" bracket operating in a best of 16 format. On the doubles side, there will be "A" and "B" flights of 16 tandems apiece.
San José State juniors Gaelle Rey and Marie Klocker are the tournament's top doubles seed, and sophomore Sybille Gauvain was awarded the eighth overall singles seed.
