Waikoloa, Hawaii--- San José State University men's golf team finished the last round the Amer Ari Invitational Saturday at Waikoloa Kings Course tied for 14th place with a third round score of three over par 291, and a total team score of eight-over par 872.

Kevin Velo fell in the leaderboards in round three to tie for 33rd after shooting a two-over par 74. This is the best score Velo has had at the Amer Ari Invitational with a total three-day score of 213.

Tied at 81st is Matthew Murray and Sean Talmadge. In round three Murray shot an even-par 72, and Talmadge shot a two-over par 74. They both finished the tournament with a score of six-over par 222.

William Barnett finished tied for 89th with a seven-over par 223.

Scott Munger had the best Spartan finish in round three with a one-under par 71. Munger got better each day, and finished with a three-day score of 10-over par 226 tied at 100th.

It was a battle for first place at the 26th annual Amer Ari Invitational with Texas Tech and USC trading spots each round. Texas Tech claimed the victory in round three with a score of 278, and a final total score of 44-under par 820. Second place USC finished eight strokes behind Texas Tech.

There was a three way tie for first place on top of the players leaderboard. The 120 player field was won by Rico Hoey from USC, Jared duToit of Arizona State, and Fredrik Nilehn of Texas Tech. The three players finished their tournament with a final score of 16-under par 200.
