April 5, 2017

Twelve San Jose State University men's water polo players were named to the first Golden Coast Conference All-Academic team in an announcement made by the conference office.

The Spartan honorees, 60 percent of the 2016 team, met the conference criteria of maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale and playing in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.

Seniors Tyler Jamiseon and John Moon; junior Conor Shuey; sophomores Cade Baldridge, Alek Dendall, Cole Williams; and freshmen Ashley Castle, Giacomo Lovatelli, Finn Pardon, Ivan Stefanovic, Corey Valencia, and Marc Weber were named to the Golden Coast Conference All-Academic team.

"We're proud of what our players were able to accomplish in the classroom. One of our goals is to have outstanding young men in our program and this is one measure of what we are looking to accomplish," says San Jose State University men's water polo coach Bruce Watson.

The conference honored 49 student-athletes from its six members. San Jose State, UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara were the three schools with at least 10 honorees.
