Nevada record: 1-8, 1-4 Mountain West. The Wolf Pack lost at Boise State, 41-14, on November 4. Nevada is winless in its last three contests.
Series history: The Wolf Pack leads the series, 19-9-2. San Jose State won last year's meeting between these teams, 14-10, in San Jose. Nevada has wins in the last seven games played in Reno including a 37-34 overtime victory on November 14, 2015. The Spartans' last win in Reno was a 49-30 triumph on November 10, 2001 when all seven San Jose State touchdowns were rushing TDs.

Altitude road games: San Jose State closes out its road schedule with two more games at high elevation beginning with Nevada (4,506 feet) this week and Colorado State (5,003 feet) on November 18. Earlier in the season, the Spartans played at Utah (4,226 feet) and at BYU (4,551 feet). The last time San Jose State played three games at 4,000 feet or higher in a season was in 2011 with games at Colorado State, BYU and Utah State.
Spartans in top-20 for fumble recoveries: Heading into the Nevada game, San José State is tied for 14st nationally with nine fumble recoveries. In the San Diego State contest, linebacker Tysyn Parker, in his first start of his major college career, made it three consecutive games for the Spartan defense with a fumble recovery.
First to 100: Linebacker Frank Ginda is the first Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) player this season to be credited with 100 tackles. Ginda has 140 tackles in 10 games heading into Nevada contest. He shares is national leader in total tackles and tackles per game and shares the national lead in unassisted tackles.
Ginda also is closing in on one of the busiest seasons by a defensive player in the Mountain West.
A first since 2013: For the first time since the 2013 season, an offensive player other than a quarterback threw a San Jose State touchdown pass in a game. Freshman wide receiver Tre Walker connected with wide receiver Justin Holmes on the Spartans' only touchdown in the San Diego State loss on November 4. Prior to Walker's touchdown throw, tight end Billy Freeman completed two passes in the 2013 season.
Six with 20: For the third time in the last four seasons, six San Jose State players have 20 or more pass receptions. Tight end Josh Oliver is the current leader with 30. JaQuan Blackwell (28), Tre Hartley (23), Bailey Gaither (22) Tre Walker (22) and Justin Holmes (22) also have 20 or more receptions with three games remaining.
Both ways: Sophomore Dominic Fredrickson became the third San Jose State player this season to play on offense and defense in the same game when he did it against San Diego State (11/4). Earlier in the season, Owen Roberts and Bryson Bridges started in the defensive line against Cal Poly (9/2) and saw action on offense by the end of the game.
