Fresno, Calif.----- San Jose State University's Brenna Bushey and Taylor Lehr capped off a pre-meet Senior Day ceremony with individual event victories against Fresno State in the Spartans' final regular-season women's swimming and diving dual meet.
Bushey captured the 100 fly, her specialty, and Lehr touched first in the 100 free. Fresno State (6-3) had 11 out of 16 first-place finishes to win the meet, 173-123.
Besides Bushey and Lehr, Madelyn Sailors was first in the 50 free and Chloe Limargo won the 200 IM. The Spartan quartet of Gabby Heng, Lehr, Antoinette Loya, and Katie McIntee ended the meet with a win in the 400 free relay.
Bushey, Lehr, Kendal Guy, and divers Megan Au and Eri Tamada were recognized with their families in a Senior Day ceremony prior to the meet.
Head coach Sage Hopkins said, "We had many solid performances today, highlighted by our sweeping both the 50 and 100 free, along with senior captains Taylor Lehr and Brenna Bushey winning events."
San Jose State has three weeks to prepare for the 2019 Mountain West Championships. This year's meet four-day championship is February 20-23 in Minneapolis, Minn.
