Davis, Calif.—The 2021 San José State beach volleyball team opened the 2021 season at UC Davis Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, the Spartans were swept by the Aggies, 5-0, in the dual.
Calli Novak and Kiley Lingenfelter were the only Spartan pair to win a set as they started their match with a 21-16 set one win. The pair then fell 21-9, 15-11, to the Aggies.
The Spartans will play four duals next weekend. The team will play Santa Clara and Pacific in Sacramento on Saturday and at Sacramento State on Sunday. After facing the Hornets, the team will drive up Interstate 80 to face UC Davis for the second time in a week.
