STOCKTON, Calif.—Reagan Mathieson and Réka Kovács each won two races for the San José State women's swimming team Saturday as the team competed at the Pacific Invitational at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool.

Mathieson won the 200 freestyle with a 1:54.90, and the 100 freestyle at 52.69. The Spartans placed four in the top-seven in the 200 free.
Kovács was first in the 200 butterfly at 2:04.83 and the 500 freestyle at 5:14.46. Andreea Dragoi was second in the 200 butterfly, while Alice Ciobanu was second to Kovács in the 500 freestyle.
Izzie Fraire finished second in the 100 breaststroke. Rebecca Petoe was third, touching the wall just after Fraire, followed by Emma Myburgh in fifth and Cali Rowland in sixth.
Ela Freiman was second in the 200 breaststroke, followed by Myburgh and Cali Rowland.

The Spartans took a different mindset into Saturday's competition, concentrating on improving times and did not compete in every race including relays.
San José State travels back to Stockton next Saturday, October 30, for a meet with Pacific and UC Santa Cruz.
