SAN DIEGO – Charles McAdoo set the Spartans on-base record with 32 straight games, Jack Colette walked with the bases loaded in the top of the 10th for the game-winning RBI and Robert Hamchuk hit a two RBI double with two outs in the top of the ninth to tie the game to lead San José State (17-15, 8-6 Mountain West) in an 11-8 win at San Diego State (7-23, 1-13 Mountain West) Saturday night to give the Spartans their second straight series win over the Aztecs.
The Spartans scored four in the top of the ninth to push the game to extra innings and eventually the win in 10 after scoring seven unanswered over the final two innings. The game lasted 4:53.
- Hamchuk ended the day going 3-for-5 from the plate
- Hunter Dorraugh hit a solo shot for his ninth home run of the season which is tied for the team lead and also had a pair of hits and three RBIs
- Makana Olaso went 3-for-3 off the bench and hit his second home run of the season, a solo shot, plus scored three runs
- Colette had two RBIs on the night and scored a run
- Reece Hernandez had an RBI and scored a run
- McAdoo scored two runs
- Dalton Bowling and James Shimashita each had a pair of hits including a double for Shimashita and both scored for the Spartans
- Danny Zimmerman had an RBI and scored a run as well
- This was Brady Hill's first win as a Spartan
- Brett Bautista formally held the SJSU on-base record after setting it in 2018
- This was the third time this season the Spartans went to extra innings and they've won all three of the games in 10 innings
