The Spartans continue at home Tuesday night as Fresno State comes to the Provident Credit Union Event Center for a Mountain West showdown. The two teams and New Mexico are tied for fifth place in the MW standings at 2-2.

San José State enters the game with an 11-6 overall record and a 2-2 MW mark and are looking to stop a two-game losing streak. The team fell to Nevada, 67-60, this past Saturday afternoon as Omari Moore led the Spartans with 10 points. Ibrahima Diallo grabbed a team-best eight rebounds, and Garrett Anderson came off the bench to add seven points and grab two steals.

ABOUT FRESNO STATE:  The Bulldogs enter Tuesday night's game with a 6-9 overall record and a 2-2 MW mark. The team fell at Colorado State, 79-57, last Saturday. The Bulldogs have recorded one of the biggest upsets of the young MW season so far as Fresno State upset then-No. 21 New Mexico, 71-67, on January 3, inside the Save Mart Center. Head coach Justin Hutson is in his fifth season at the school.
Series Record - 81-99. Fresno State has won the past 11 meetings dating back to the 2016-17 season. The two programs first met on the hardwood on December 18, 1916, with SJSU winning 58-32. Last year, the teams played three times, the final meeting at the 2022 MW Tournament where overtime was needed to decide the game.

The Spartans trailed three times by 15 points before rallying to defeat the Bulldogs inside The Event Center. Gary Williams, Jr., scored 18 points to lead the team. Brandon Clarke added 15 points, while Jalen James led the team with six rebounds and four assists.

After the win at Santa Clara, the Spartans jumped up from 191 to 132, with a Quadrant 2 win over the Broncos. SJSU had Quadrant 2 wins over Ball State, Santa Clara, UNLV and Colorado State. The team has six Quadrant 4 wins.

COLD AS ICE: The Spartans fell 67-40 to Nevada on January 7, and if you didn't know better, one may have thought the Spartans were shooting in the North Pole. San José took an early 15-7 lead with 10:41 left in the first half and did not score another point for the remainder of the period.
The Spartans finished the half with a season-low 15 points and scored just 40 for the game while shooting 33 percent from the field.

CONSISTENCY IN STARTING LINEUP: This season, the Spartans have used the same lineup for all 17 games. This is a change from past years when San José State used 13 different starting lineups for the 2021-22 season.
