Sinia Plotz contributed two assists in No. 14 San José State (2-2) 21-2 loss to No.1 Stanford (1-0), while Kylee Jansen scored a backhand shot and recorded a field block in the second match to lead the Spartans in their 15-4 loss to No.4 California (4-0).

Match One (Stanford): 

  • Goalkeeper Hannah Henry recorded 7 saves throughout the match.
  • Olga Descalzi scored the first Spartan goal of the match. 
  • Belene Rodriguez was assisted by Plotz to score off a power play in the fourth quarter. 

Match Two (California):

  • Lior Ben David scored the first goal for SJSU with an assist from Clarissa Wandinger. 
  • Rodriguez and Plotz also scored during the match. 
  • Descalzi recorded 2 steals and 1 assist. 
  • Plotz led the team in exclusion drawn. Giving the Spartans two power play opportunities.
