PALO ALTO, Calif. - Olga Descalzi scored two goals in the No.17 Spartans (2-5) 6-4 loss to No.6 Michigan (5-5), while Sinia Plotz contributed two goals and an assist to lead the Spartans in their 9-7 loss to No.10 Arizona State (5-3) at the Stanford Invitational. 

Match One vs. Michigan: 

  • Clarissa Wandinger was assisted by Plotz to score the first goal of the game on a power play. 
  • Kylee Jansen also scored in the match and contributed a field block and a save. 
  • Wandinger led the team in drawn exclusions tallying five. 
  • Goalkeeper Hannah Henry recorded 11 saves and three steals throughout the match. 

Match Two vs. Arizona State:

  • Descalzi was the leading scorer of the match netting three goals. 
  • Maiken Pardon and Wandinger each contributed one goal. 
  • Wandinger had the most drawn exclusions of both teams, giving the Spartans four power play opportunities. 
  • Henry recorded nine saves. 

UP NEXT: The Spartans will compete at the UC Davis Tournament on Feb. 11-12, at the Schaal Aquatic Center.
