LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Laszlo Szieben scored two goals and three assists to lead the No. 9 San José State men's water polo team in their 17-12 loss to No. 15 LMU. In the second game of the day Bence Szabo scored three goals to lead the Spartans in their 13-9 loss to UCSB.
VS LMU
- Maro Tiozzo, Mark Kis, Nikki Matheisen, Erik Duesund, Mateja Bosic, and Szabo also scored.
- Bostic led the team in assists, tallying two.
- Goalkeeper Jamie Steingraf tallied seven saves and scored a goal against the Lions.
- Szieben tallied three drawn exclusions to give the Spartans multiple power play opportunities.
VS UCSB
- Nikola Nikolic, Bosic, Tiozzo, Macmillan, and Szieben also scored.
- Macmillan, Kis, Szabo, and Duesend all drew exclusions to give the Spartans multiple power play opportunities.
- SJSU won the sprint in the first and third quarter to give the Spartans starting possession.
