LAS VEGAS – Kairee Robinson tied the career-touchdown record and set the single-season touchdown record at San José State as the Spartans (7-5, 6-2 MW) knocked off UNLV (9-3, 6-2 MW) 37-31 on Saturday for their sixth-straight win to close out the regular season and a share of the Mountain West regular season title.
The Spartans will know if they made the Mountain West Championship on Sunday following computer calculations.
- The Spartans have back-to-back over .500 seasons for the first time since 1991-92.
- Robinson rushed for 165 yards on 16 carries and two scores to lead the Spartan rushing attack.
- He also tied Deoncé Whitaker's career touchdown record with his 36th.
- Robinson has a touchdown in every game he's played in this season (11), which is an SJSU record and is second in the nation in consecutive games played with a touchdown.
- Robinson's 20 total touchdowns on the season is an SJSU single-season record.
- He has a rushing touchdown in 21-career games, which ties an SJSU record.
- Robinson has rushed for 1,124 yards this season and it's his first 1,000 yard season.
- Chevan Cordeiro threw for 249 yards on 19-for-26 passing and two touchdowns.
- Cordeiro is now the Mountain West all-time leader in yardage gained with 13,537 yards.
- The first was to Sam Olson for 56 yards. It is Olson's second touchdown of the season.
- The second went to Isaac Jernagin for his second-career receiving touchdown.
- Cordeiro now has 13,532 passing yards in his career, which is a new Mountain West record.
- Cordeiro's two touchdowns ties him for fourth in Mountain West history with Derek Carr with 87.
- Kyler Halvorsen knocked down three field goals. It is the first time in his career with three made field goals in a game.
- The Spartans rushed for 233 yards in the win. It is the sixth time this season they have gone for 200+ rushing yards in a game.
- SJSU's 482 yards of total offense are the most this season.
- Nick Nash led the way receiving with 98 yards on three catches.
- Olson's 81 yards receiving is a career high.
- Bryun Parham finished with a sack and two tackles for loss.
- Jay'Vion Cole had his first-career fumble recovery and finished with a pair of pass breakups to bring his team-leading total to 10 on the season.
- The six-game win streak is the longest for the Spartans since 2020.
