Spartans Rewrite Record Books In Return Home

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Sabrina Ma had career highs in both points and 3-pointers made as San José State (4-4, 0-0 MW) added some new records to the books when they knocked off Bethesda (0-9) 122-28 on Monday night in their first game at home since November 11.

  • Ma had a career-high 31 points and knocked down a career-high seven 3-pointers.
  • Ma's seven 3-pointers tied the single-game Provident Credit Union Event Center record.
  • It is the fourth time since 1997 that a Spartans has made seven 3-pointers in the Event Center.
  • Amhyia Moreland secured her first-career double-double after scoring a career-high 26 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field and pulling down a career-high 12 rebounds.
  • Freshman Sydni Summers added a double-double to her early resume with 13 points and a career-high 10 assists off the bench. She also had a team-high six steals.
  • It is the first time a Spartans has had double-digit assists in a game since December 14, 2019 when Danae Marquez had 12 against La Verne.
  • Alani Fluker earned her second start of the season and pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds. She also tied her career high with seven points.
  • Sophia Jones made her return to the court for the first time since 2022, scoring a career-high eight points on 3-for-4 shooting from the field with a 3-pointer.
  • Jyah LoVett had an efficient night, scoring 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field to go along with five assists. She also had five steals.
  • Semaj Smith had her best game as a Spartan, nearly recording a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
  • The 94-point win set a record for winning margin. The previous record was 66 points, set on December 14, 2019 against La Verne.
  • The Spartans also set a record for most made field goals in a game with 49, surpassing the previous record of 44 set on the same date.
  • The 23 steals by the Spartans tied an Event Center record.

UP NEXT: The Spartans will close out non-conference play with four games on the road, starting on Wednesday when they take on Cal State Fullerton. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
