Spartans Knock Off Colorado State On Senior Day

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Sofia Kelemeni scored a new career high as the San José State women's basketball team (7-22, 2-15 MW) earned a win on senior day, knocking off Colorado State (18-10, 9-8 MW) 68-56 in its final home game of the season on Saturday afternoon.

  • Kelemeni went 4-for-9 from behind the arc and scored a career-high 16 points in the win.
  • The sophomore guard had seven rebounds and four assists in over 35 minutes played.
  • Sabrina Ma added 12 points with a pair of 3-pointers and four rebounds.
  • Amhyia Moreland went 5-for-7 from the field to finish with 11 points. She also pulled down five rebounds, dished out five assists and had one block.
  • Semaj Smith rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points off the bench, also on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, in her final collegiate home game.
  • Sydni Summers matched Kelemeni with four assists to go along with eight points and a block.
  • Marisa Davis-Jones came off the bench and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
  • The Spartan defense held Colorado State's offense in check the entire afternoon, keeping them to just 35.7 percent shooting from the field and a third quarter where they scored just nine points.
  • SJSU continued their strong season on the glass, out-rebounding the Rams 38-30 with seven offensive boards.
  • It was a wire-to-wire win for the Spartans and their first over Colorado State since Feb. 22, 2020 (69-64).

UP NEXT: The Spartans will close out the regular season on Tuesday when they travel to Nevada. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
