SAN JOSE, Calif.—The San José State women’s water polo program has collected many academic awards over the past months for their successes in the classroom.
Eight Spartans were named 6-8 Sports All-Academic Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

Sinia Plotz was named to the College Sports Communicators Women’s At-Large Academic All-District team in June. She was one of six Spartan student-athletes to receive the honor.
In July, 14 Spartans were recognized as champions in the class as being to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic teams. To receive the honor, players maintained a 3.20 or higher cumulative gpa. The team had five players honored as Outstanding (3.71-4.00 gpa), seven as superior (3.41-3.70 gpa) and two as excellent (3.20-3.40 gpa).
Ryann Lucchesi earned her fourth honor, while Lucy Miszewski and Maiken Pardon have three honors. Ivanna Anderson-Villela, Sinia Plotz and Catie Kelly earned their second honor at SJSU, and eight Spartans earned their first honor – Mackenzy Clark, Zsofia Hadju, Rose Jensen, Jennine Osorio, Paxtyn Reihs, Emma Ruzic, Grace Smith and Darcy Spark.
