SAN FRANCISCO – Alexander Walker and Amanda Challburg led the way as San José State cross country ran in their second meet of the season at the San Francisco State Invitational on Friday afternoon from Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park.

- Alexander Walker, with a time of 25:43.2
- Diego Cortes with a time of 26:37.0
- Alex Mendoza, with a time of 27:25.4
- Amanda Challburg, with a time of 22:02.5
- Grace Scott, with a time of 22:41.6
- Nereyda Alvarez-Gonzalez with a time of 23:01.8
- Malia Seki with a time of 24:54.5
- Four Spartans on the men’s side would finish in the top 40, led by Walker, who finished in 16th, Will Bujake in 28th, Michael Chadwick in 31st, and Cortes in 35th.
- Three Spartans on the women’s side would finish in the top 40 led by Challburg who finished in eighth, Scott in 20th and Alvarez-Gonzalez in 28th.
- Bujake would finish with a time of 26:17.7
- Chadwick would finish with a time of 26:24.9.
- Adrian Gomez finished in 49th with a time of 27:17.8.
- Cristian Lopez would finish with a time of 28:28.5
- Gabriella Hernandez would finish the race with a time of 25:03.5
- Isabella Santillan would finish with a time of 25:15.9.
- Samantha Villavicencio finished with a time of 26:04.8
- Lauren Strazzeri would finish with a time of 27:16.4.
- The Spartans finished in sixth place as a team with a total score of 150.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will be back in action on October 19 when they compete in the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale, Calif. Races are scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.
