SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State football continues to attract national recognition as 15 Spartans have earned spots on the 2025 Preseason Athlon Sports Mountain West All-Conference Team, more than last year’s total of eight selections. The 15 honorees are the second-most among all programs in the Mountain West Conference.

Leading the way for the Spartans are wide receiver Matthew Coleman and linebacker Jordan Pollard, who both earned First Team honors. Coleman also received a Fourth Team nod as a punt returner, showcasing his versatility and impact on special teams.

San José State’s talent shines across the board with quarterback Walker Eget, defensive lineman Gafa Faga, linebacker Taniela Latu, and safety Isiah Revis all landing on the Second Team, representing strength on both sides of the ball.

The Third Team selections include key contributors such as tight end Jackson Canaan, all-purpose running back Floyd Chalk IV, offensive lineman Peseti Lapuaho, and punter Trent Carrizosa, reflecting the Spartans’ depth and balance across positions.

Rounding out the list are five Spartans named to the Fourth Team: kick returner and running back Jabari Bates, kicker Denis Lynch, offensive lineman Sione Nomani, and wide receiver Danny Scudero, in addition to Coleman’s second honor.

The Spartans open their 2025 campaign this fall with high expectations and a roster that is already earning conference-wide and national attention. Earlier this offseason, the Spartans had a record 14 Spartans named to the 2025 Preseason Phil Steele All-Mountain West Team.
