  • The Spartans look for their fifth win in a row over Hawai‘i in the Dick Tomey Legacy Game and their second straight home win over the Rainbow Warriors.
  • This is the first time Hawai‘i legend Ken Niumatalolo has played against the Rainbow Warriors since joining the Spartans.
  • The Spartans, though, have seen plenty of Hawai‘i the last two seasons by going to the Hawai‘i Bowl in back-to-back seasons and playing in Honolulu in 2023 while giving Hawai‘i their first shutout home loss since 1998.
  • Niumatalolo is now eighth in FBS active head coaches' wins with 118.
  • The Spartans have four coaches and an analyst who played for the Rainbow Warriors: Niumatalolo, OC Craig Stutzmann, WR Coach Billy Ray Stutzmann, OL Coach John Estes and Offensive Analyst Kolney Cassel.
  • In his last five games, Walker Eget has gone 125-for-195 (64.1%) for 1,657 yards (331.4 passing yards per game) with no interceptions, 13 touchdowns and a QB rating of 157.48.
  • Eget has gone 228 passing attempts since his last interception, which is good for the third-longest in Mountain West history.
  • The Spartans are averaging 6.1 yards per play this season and 6.8 yards per play in their last five games.
  • In the Spartans' two wins, SJSU has averaged 175.5 rushing yards and 278 passing yards. The Spartans averaged 88.1 rushing yards per game a year ago.
  • The 534 yards of offense at Utah State (10/17) were the most for the Spartans since 543 yards of total offense against Southern Utah on Aug. 28, 2021, and the most under Niumatalolo at SJSU.
  • The Spartans ran for 194 yards at Utah State (10/17), which were the most for the Spartans in a loss since running for 198 yards at No. 6 USC on Aug. 26, 2023.
  • Danny Scudero, a San Jose native, leads the country in receiving yards (870), receiving yards per game (124.3) and is fourth in the country with nine receiving touchdowns. He is also fifth in the country and first in the MW, with 56 receptions, while averaging eight receptions per game, which is fourth in the nation.
  • Scudero has gone over 100 receiving yards in five out of seven games at SJSU, and his 189 receiving yards against CMU (8/29) and 180 receiving yards at Wyoming (10/11) are the eighth and 11th most single-game receiving yards in the NCAA this season.
  • Scudero tied the SJSU record with four-straight 100-yard receiving games (9/20-10/11).
  • Scudero broke the SJSU single-game record and tied the Mountain West record with four receiving touchdowns in a game at Wyoming (10/11). He also tied for the most receiving touchdowns in an FBS game this season with Omar Cooper Jr. of Indiana and Beau Sparks of Texas State.
  • According to Stats Perform, Scudero became the third FBS player in the last decade to record at least four touchdown catches and 150 receiving yards in the first half of a game. The other two were Justin Jefferson (Dec. 28, 2019) and DeVonta Smith (Sept. 28, 2019).
  • Gafa Faga was named to the Pro Football Focus (PFF) National Team of the Week (9/22). Faga had five tackles, including 0.5 for loss and one quarterback hurry in the win against Idaho (9/20).
  • Faga is the 17th-ranked defensive tackle in the country with an 84.5 grade according to PFF.
  • According to PFF, Faga has the fourth-best pass rush in the country.
