SJSU's Eget Earns National Recognition After Stellar Performance Against Hawai‘i

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State quarterback Walker Eget received national honors on Monday, being named both a Davey O’Brien Great 8 Quarterback of the Week and a Manning Award Star of the Week, as announced by the respective organizations.

Eget led the Spartans to a 45-38 victory over Hawai‘i on Saturday (story), completing 20 of 40 passes for 458 yards and two touchdowns. It marked the second time this season Eget has surpassed 450 passing yards in a game, making him the only quarterback in the nation to do so in 2025. He currently leads the country with an average of 325.9 passing yards per game.

Eget also extended his streak of 268 consecutive pass attempts without an interception, the third-longest streak in Mountain West history. His 17 touchdown passes lead the conference.

This marks Eget’s second Manning Award Star of the Week recognition this season and his first selection to the Davey O’Brien Great 8. In addition, he was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year (story).
