- Outside of his freshman season when he divided his playing time between center and left tackle, Steele was a left tackle his last three seasons at Murrieta Valley High in Murrieta, Calif. (Coach George Wilson)
- In his senior season, he was named the league’s most valuable offensive lineman and was a team captain for the Nighthawks’ league championship team
- A three-time All-Southwestern League football honoree
- The two-sport athlete was a shot put and discus thrower on the track and field team.
PERSONAL: Plans to major in nursing and would like to pursue a master’s degree in nursing, too... He enjoys surfing in La Jolla, Calif., and snowboarding... Native of Temecula, Calif.
