2013 CFN All-Sophomore Teams

Highland Park, Ill.----- Five San Jose State University football players, wide receiver Tyler Winston, running back Jarrod Lawson, linebacker Christian Tago, tight end Billy Freeman and placekicker Austin Lopez were named to the 2013 College Football News freshman and sophomore All-America teams.

Winston, Tago, Lawson and Freeman were honorable mention selections to College Football News' freshman team. Lopez was an honorable mention choice on the sophomore team.

Winston, named the 2013 Mountain West Freshman of the Year, set San Jose State freshman records with his 58 receptions for 858 yards.

Tago led the Spartans with 10.5 tackles for loss and was second on the team with 90 tackles.

Lawson established a new benchmark for freshman rushing at San Jose State with his team-leading 788 yards. He also led the team with four rushing touchdowns.

Freeman was consistent the entire season as one of two players catching a pass in all 12 games. Freeman finished the season with 27 receptions for 427 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw a touchdown pass in the UNLV win on November 2.

Lopez tied a Football Bowl Subdivision record for most field goals at the start of a career (23) and became the first San Jose State player to score more than 100 points in two different seasons with his second 105-point production in 2013. He was 22-of-27 kicking field goals.
