Spartans Dominate Both Games at Santa Clara

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Ryann Lucchesi led the Spartans in the first game of the day scoring three goals in the 13-5 win over CSU East Bay (5-8), while Sinia Plotz and Maiken Pardon scored three goals each to lead the Spartans (9-10) in their 15-6 win over Santa Clara University (5-7). 

Match One vs CSU East Bay 

  • Sinia Plotz and Kylee Jansen scored two goals each, while Maiken Pardon, Clarissa Wandinger, Genevieve Larkin, Lauren Woolley, Belene Rodriguez, and Lior Ben David each added one goal. 
  • Ivanna Anderson-Villela and Plotz both contributed two assists. 
  • Plotz led the team in steals tallying two. 
  • The Spartans won all four sprints to start off each quarter. 

Match Two vs Santa Clara

  • Lucy Miszewski and Larkin each tallied two goals, while Lucchesi, Ben David, Jansen, Anderson-Villela, and Wandinger scored one goal each. 
  • Wandinger led the team in drawn exclusions giving the Spartans three power play opportunities. 
  • Goalkeeper Hannah Henry tallied seven saves, one assist, and four steals. 

UP NEXT: The Spartans will compete at the Michigan Invitational on Mar. 4-5, at the Canham Natatorium.
