Spartans Score 39 Goals in Final Day of Michigan Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Freshman Sinia Plotz led the first game of the day tallying five goals to lead the No.19 Spartans in their 23-7 win against Salem University (5-9), while Maiken Pardon scored six goals and added two assists in the Spartans (12-11) 16-12 win over Bucknell University (5-17). SJSU finished the Michigan Invitational with three wins and one loss.

Match One vs Salem University 

  • Clarissa Wandinger scored the first goal of the game to give SJSU the lead. 
  • Lior Ben David won two sprints to give the Spartans starting possession in the first and third quarter. 
  • Ivanna Anderson-Villela, Catie Kelly, Kylee Jansen, Lucy MiszewskiRenee Fleming, Belene Rodriguez, Lior Ben David, and Pardon also scored in the match.

Match Two vs Bucknell 

  • Genevieve Larkin, Kielle Leggo, Wandinger, Plotz, Ben David, and Flemming also scored. 
  • Ben David and Pardon each won a sprint to give the Spartans starting possession in the second and fourth quarter. 
  • SJSU was able to score on three of their power plays.
