COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— For the fourth consecutive year, a school-record number of San José State University student-athletes received a 2024-25 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Award as 129 Spartans are honored for their performances in the classroom during their athletic career.
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the conference. To be eligible for the award this year, student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters at the institution and have a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average while being a member of an intercollegiate team.
The Spartan student-athletes represent 18 sports, including six teams with double-digit honorees, led by women’s soccer with 20, football at 17, women’s gymnastics and women’s swimming and diving each with 14 honorees, football with 12, softball at 11 and women’s track and field with 10.
A school-record 14 Spartans have the distinction of receiving four MW Scholar-Athlete recognitions.
