CHAMBERS BAY, Wash.— Kleopatra Kozakiewicz shot 8-under par for two rounds, and Moa Andersson shot the low round of the tournament as the two sit 1-2 on the individual leaderboard at the Leadership and Golf Invitational at the Chambers Bay Golf Club. The two also assisted the San José State women’s golf team in shooting a 4-under 572 and are second after two rounds.
- Kozakiewicz was consistent on the course, shooting a 4-under 68 for both rounds played and is 8-under par, 136, on the day.
- Starting both rounds on the third hole, she made a birdie on her first hole of the day and never looked back. She made an eagle on the par-4, 246-yard #12, and made a birdie on #13 to go to 5-under, but a bogey on #16 was the only blemish on the rest of her card en route to her 68.
- She started the second round with five pars and two birdies before making another eagle on #12 to go to 4-under par.
- Kozakiewicz is one of three players in the field to make two eagles on the day and is tied for third in pars made with 24.
- Andersson shot a 7-under 65 in the second round, the lowest round shot by an individual at the tournament, and is in second place at 7-under 137.
- She made eight birdies during the round with just one blemish on her card – a bogey on the par-4 #14.
- Andersson shot an even-par 72 for the first round, making birdies on two of her final three holes (#17, #1).
- She started each round on a positive note, making a birdie on the par-4, 373-yard #2. She finished the day with 11 birdies made.
- Kozakiewicz and Andersson are two of five players who shot under par for the two rounds.
- San José State is second in the team standings at 4-under 572, four shots behind leader Eastern Michigan. The Spartans shot the low round of the tournament with a 9-under 279, in the second round.
- Ting Yu Chang is tied for 23rd at 5-over after shooting 76-73 for the day.
- Lotte Schuhr shot a 7-over 151 for the two rounds (78-73) and is tied for 38th.
- Regina Roldan is tied for 46th at 9-over 153 (77-76).
UP NEXT – Final round action begins Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The Spartans will play the final round with Eastern Michigan, Oregon State and Grand Canyon.
