KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii—Regina Roldan and Ting-Yu Chang are tied for 24th, and the San José State women’s golf team ended the first round of the Nanea Invitational in eighth place at even-par 292 Monday afternoon at the par-73 Nanea Golf Club.
- Roldan and Chang each shot a one-under 72 and are tied with five others in 24th place.
Roldan, starting her round on hole #7, was two under for her nine holes, making seven pars and two birdies. - Chang made five birdies on her round, her final on the par-5 sixth hole, to get her to 1-under par 72 to finish her round. She started the day on hole #8.
- Kleopatra Kozakiewicz started her shotgun round on the 10th tee, making a birdie on her first hole and adding two more on 13 and 14 to go to 3-under on the backside of the course. She was 3-over on the front nine to finish the day at even-par 73, tied for 32nd.
- Lotte Schuhr and Moa Andersson are tied for 45th at 2-over 75. Schuhr made four birdies during the round, while Andersson made three, including her first hole of the day (#6),
- The Spartans ended the day in eighth place with an even-par 292. The team is tied for fourth in birdies made with 19, and par-5 scoring at 4.65.
UP NEXT – Second-round action begins with a 10:30 a.m. PT/7:30 a.m. HT shotgun start. The Spartans begin on holes 6-10 with California, UCLA and Colorado.
