Two Spartans In Top-20 After First Round of Chevron Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif.—Tessa Kremser and Kleopatra Kozakiewicz ended the first round in the top-20, and helped the San José State women’s golf team to land in sixth place after one round of the Chevron Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Country Club in Napa, Calif.

  • Kremser is tied for eighth place at 1-under 71. She is one of 13 players who were under par for the first round and is four shots behind leader Catherine Park of Southern California.
  • Kremser leads the field in par-4 scoring with a 3.70 average and is tied for first in birdies made with six.
  • Kremser ended her round with birdies on four of her final seven holes.
  • Kozakiewicz is tied for 14th at even par 72, making 13 pars and two birdies on the day.
  • Lotte Schuhr is tied for 43rd at 3-over 75, with three birdies and eight pars made.
  • Regina Roldan and Moa Andersson are tied for 60th at 5-over 77.
  • Playing as individuals, Isabella Cioe and Ting-Yu Chang also shot 77s and are tied for 60th.  Choe made 13 pars during her round.
  • The Spartans ended the day in sixth place at 7-over 295, just six shots behind third-place Cincinnati. No. 2 Southern California leads the tournament at 11-under 277.
    UP NEXT – The second round begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday for the Spartans off the first tee. The team will play with California, UC Davis, and Northern Arizona.
