Nicholas Enriquez joined the San José State University baseball coaching staff as an assistant in the fall of 2012. Enriquez entered the position with eight years of assistant coaching experience at the Division I level with Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.
At San José State, Enriquez instructs the team’s infielders and coordinates recruiting efforts. During his time with the Spartans, San José State recorded the third-best fielding percentage (.972) in the Western Athletic Conference in 2013 and the second-highest fielding percentage (.970) in the Mountain West in 2014.
At Dartmouth, Enriquez was responsible for instruction of hitters and infielders as well as on and off campus recruiting evaluations. He assisted the 2009 and 2010 teams that were crowned as Ivy League champions, solidifying back-to-back appearances at an NCAA Regional.
In 2010, the Big Green got its first victory at an NCAA Regional in 23 years and the 2011 team won at least 30 games for the first time in program history. In 2012, the squad established the top mark in program history for fielding percentage (.977) and was tops in the Ivy League with a team batting average of .298.
The 2001 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Menlo College in Atherton, Calif., began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater. He coached three seasons from 2001-04, instructing hitters and infielders.
Enriquez spent one season as an assistant (2003) and one season as a head coach (2004) of the collegiate summer league baseball Amsterdam Mohawks. The Mohawks were New York City Baseball League (NYCBL) champions during both seasons.
From 1999-2004 Enriquez was an associate scout in the Bay Area for Major League Baseball's Houston Astros. He specifically monitored all Monterey Bay and San Francisco area high schools. He also worked with the MLB Roadshow from May-August 2001, providing instruction to local teams in England, Germany, Holland, the Czech Republic and Scotland.
Enriquez currently resides in San Jose, Calif.
