San José State record: 3-7, 2-4 Mountain West. The Spartans split their last four games after a 45-31 loss at Boise State on November 4. Previously, San Jose State defeated Nevada, 14-10, on October 15, lost at San Diego State, 42-3, on October 21, and topped UNLV 30-24 on October 29.
Air Force record: 7-3, 3-3 Mountain West. The Falcons have a three-game winning streak after defeating Colorado State, 49-46, on November 12. Air Force also earned the 2016 Commander-in-Chief Trophy signifying superiority in games played among Air Force, Army and Navy after its 31-12 win over Army on November 5.
Series history: Air Force leads the series, 2-1. The home team was the winner in each of the first three games. The Falcons won last year's game in Colorado Springs, Colo., 37-16. San Jose State's win in CEFCU Stadium was a 25-22 victory on October 25, 1997 when Air Force was ranked #24 in the coaches' national poll.

A November bye: For the third time since the 2000 season, San Jose State had a bye week in November. The Spartans had a bye in November in 2000, 2005 and 2010. In 2005, the Spartans' bye was in the second week of November and San Jose State closed out that season with wins over New Mexico State and Idaho.
Senior Night in CEFCU Stadium: The Air Force game will be the final CEFCU Stadium game for 17 San Jose State University football seniors. Ten of the 17 (Dominic Barnes, Tim Crawley, Billy Freeman, Isaiah Irving, Nick Oreglia, Evan Sarver, Shane Smith, Christian Tago, Michael Talafus and Eugene Taylor) are fifth-year seniors. Deontae Cooper, Crawley, Dontonio Jordan, Oreglia, Smith, Tago and Talafus already earned a bachelor's degree.
A scoring high: San José State's 31 points in the loss to Boise State are the most points the Spartans scored in seven games played in Albertsons Stadium and the most scored by a Bronco opponent in Boise this season. Previously, 21 points in a 38-21 loss on October 15, 2005, were the most points scored by San Jose State in a game played in Boise.
Offense picking up: In San Jose State's last two games, the Spartans scored 30 points in a 30-24 win over UNLV and 31 at Boise State compared to the previous three games when the team managed just 34 points. Also, in the last two games, San Jose State accumulated back-to-back 400-plus yards of total offense with 424 against UNLV and 495 in the Boise State game.
Bryce Crawford accelerates kick-scoring totals: San Jose State sophomore Bryce Crawford is among six Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) players with 23 or more kick-scoring points in a kicker's last two games. Crawford is 6-for-6 in field goal and 5-for-5 in PAT tries in the San Jose State games on October 29 vs. UNLV and November 4 at Boise State. His 63 points leads the Spartans in scoring.
Turnover streak ends: A first-quarter pass interception in the Boise State game ended San José State's streak of 12 consecutive quarters and three complete games without committing a turnover. The last San José State team to play three consecutive games without a turnover was the 1998 Spartans. That squad beat New Mexico, lost to Virginia and defeated Rice in games three through five with no turnovers. For the season, San Jose State relinquished the football 15 times on 12 interceptions and three fumbles.
Long-gaining pair: San José State wide receivers Justin Holmes and Tre Hartley are ranked among the top-50 players in the Football Bowl Subdivision for yards per reception with at least 2.0 receptions per game in games played through November 5. While there are nine teams with at least in the top-50, Holmes and Hartley are one of two duos with at least 30 receptions each for a yard per catch average of 17.3 or more.
